Garmin 196 or 295?

Debating between buying a used 196 or a 295 anyone have some real world insight beyond the obvious benefits like battery life for the 196 and color display on the 295?

If you meant 296, I'd go for that one.

If this is your first, you may think that the greyscale is good enough. I did too. Then I bought a 296 and the color really does make all the difference in the world.

Yeah this will be my first one. I like the 196 because of the price and as mentioned the newer technology, the 295 I liked for the price and color display, wasn't sure which would be of more benefit newer technology or color display.
If I was going to spend the money on a 296 I might consider a new aera 500 instead....
