Funny Voices....

For those that fly into BOS on a regular basis, there is a controler that has a ton of sayings.

I was in BOS yesterday and was cracking up listening to him. He was Tower, working the departures off 22R. Since we were about 12th in line we got plenty of chance to hear 'em all.

:D

YEP so was I! What time were you there?

That guy is awesome! The Colgan guys want to take this guy and the other BOS controllers out for drinks. We are trying to orginize it.

Seriously, ALL the ATC folks out there do a great job.

There was a controller in St. Thomas who gets my vote. That guy could make a stress relieving joke in any situation. My favorite conversation was one I had with him just before Christmas.

Me: "Merry Christmas and I hope you get your Malibu Barbie."

Him (without any hesitation): "You've been reading my list I see. What I really want is a GI Joe with a Kung Fu grip, so I can sick him on smart ass Shorts pilots."

All I could do was laugh.

I watched you take off and was idly wondering if there was anyone I knew from JC up front. We were 6 planes behind you. :)

Small world.

:bandit:

HAHAHA, that was my leg to! We were right behind a Delta 737-800.

It is a small world.

Nah, he lives in Vegas.....

Speaking of Scenic, I spoke w/an airline buddy of mine who quit scenic a few months ago to work for SkyWest. He told me Scenic is selling off a bunch of their twin otters and B1900's and moving to Boulder City Airport (crappy uncontrolled airport)... guess it's not working too well for them...

Thats too bad. I spent a couple weeks training at VGT and they seemed to be flying all the time. It was like every hour on the hour there would be 5-6 twotters full of pax ariving or departing.

You know, after my checkride tonight, I was thinking of this thread...I had an awesome instructor, with a flight department guy as my "sim partner". We were seeing how many different accents we could use to check in with/use for ATC, etc. The instructor also brought his laptop in and we were listening to tunes the entire time. We come out of the sim, and there's a sim tech outside, looking at us funny. He asks us if we were singing in there, and we said we had tunes, etc. He said he thought we had some type of Top Gun song going on, and we just started laughing. Nothing like all three of us singing "You've lost that lovin' feeling" during a checkride, while shooting the ILS to mins!!! Too bad he didn't hear the Johnny Cash or some better songs.

And, yes, we both passed with flying colors, did what we needed to do, and had a good time. Best checkride ever!!!!

My personal favorite for a situation like this is Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire."

"I fell in to a burnin' ring of fire
I went down down down
and the flames got higher..."

LMAO

Sick, but funny.

That's the one I was referring to. We were all singing along to that, go figure, at one of our engine failures. It's sick, listening to that, singing along, and feathering a single engine airplane due to an engine failure on an ILS.

BTW, your button on your avatar doesn't work.:insane: :insane: :yar:

Did you fly w/Frank Varselona?.... i.e., "Blueberry Man"
