I was working a high-altitude sector today and this CRJ2 pilot had me cracking up. When he checked in I asked him his climb rate as he was in confliction with another aircraft. He answered, "500 feet per minute."
Apparently I sounded less then pleased when I rogered him (I was really just trying to think of plan B). He came back and said, "hey, we're just as dissappoined about it as you."

The old RJ's the 100's/200's have generated some good ATC quotes, unfortunately none of these are mine:

On the hotline during a handoff
"30 miles east of TOPPS is Jazz 943, out of flight level 246 throwing bags out to 340."

Frequency
"Comair 426, if you want to climb you have to pull BACK on the stick"

"Center Jazz 850 requesting flight level 360"
"Not unless you have JATO"

That's when you say, "My next vector is gonna make you MORE disappointed about it than me."

SWA came over this morning on the STAR descending to 16,000 but only showing 260kts. He was in a position which would normally make him first but not w/ the speed he was at. He was assigned a descent to 5,000ft. When asked if center assigned a speed restriction he said "No, just slowed on our own in case we didn't get the descent right away, we'll speed up now that we have a descent." Response from the controller "Roger, turn 30 degrees left, vector for sequence."
