funny student reaction to first spin

Wearing uniforms in a cessna? You are doing it wrong.....

Funny though, where was this over??

Did spin training as part of instructor training ... did a bunch, and each execution was 6-7 360's before I was allowed to recover. Actually stopped the engine on the DA-20! But that instructor was not allowed to issue the endorsement. So I went up with the chief pilot to do it all over again. Chief pilot hasn't spin a plane in 30 years. He was white as a ghost the whole trip to the practice area. Remember in training where they stress the part about reading the student's body language. It applies to Chief Pilots also!

That's not even a spin, you need to go beyond incipient... Sheesh, kids these days.

haha...well it was his first one so I wanted to take it easy on him ;)

I usually start off with a power off entry incipient and then work up to power on with three turns or so.

Vail Lake which is up around French Valley. It's hard to find somewhere to do those around here without having to worry about terrain, airspace, or just flat out getting run over by a bonanza or cirrus.

So that schoolgirl like noise was the male student?? Looked like you recovered pretty quickly before actually getting into a full spin so the sound he made was pretty funny lol

Yeah it's been hilarious to watch different students react to their "upset recovery training"

I even had one guy grab my arm and try to cuddle up next to me (which isn't hard in a 152) :rotfl:

Ahh, SAA proving grounds ;-) I worked there for a bit..I miss San diego..though you are right, it is crazy crowded there

I had a Navy IFS student who had seemed cool, calm, and collected up until that point, drop a wing in a departure stall, grab the glareshield, and yell (no need for the intercom) "OH S--!!!!". Completely froze. I was able to talk him out of it, so I do give him credit for that.

Next time you do spin training with that student... Spin to the right, add power and crank in in-spin aileron. Be sure to record it, I want to hear the sounds both of you make!

Had the same thing happen to me after my students first stall...and it was 172...can you say awkward?
