Fun times at Skywest

If anyone is curious, the "parting gift" from Jeremy Peterson before he "returns to the line" is to turn off the SAPA forums in the middle of a pay vote.

Causing quite the huff over on APC.

Who is the good dude who died that they're talking about?

Humm, maybe I ought to go read Angry Pilot Central™® for my daily dose of vitriol.

The conduct that my fellow pilots exhibited on the forum was far from acceptable by any community or workplace standard, but the forums have also been a thorn in the side of the JP and RJ show. The failure of SAPA to adequately and forcefully moderate - including the comments of one of the Regional Representatives, which bordered on the bullying - is the real reason we got here. The latest kerfuffle is probably a quite convenient excuse for them to simply remove that thorn.

I think you've got the wrong guy.
One of our sim instructors had a heart attack and passed away yesterday. Mitch Lucas. He really was a great guy

+1
I'm so saddened to hear that news. Mitch was my instructor in the sim for many PC's. I always loved his enthusiasm. "We're getting 757's for Delta". I never met his son but I'm very sad to hear this. First Scott Martin, now Mitch Lucas. I remember one of my flights from SFO-PSP with Mitch Lucas Deadheading in the back of the plane. We normally got vectored to the south for 31L coming from the Big Bear area. Landing 13R was rare but occasionally did happen when the winds were calm. I think we crossed big bear around 14000' when we were cleared for the visual. We made it all the way down and landed 13R and I knew Mitch was going to come up to the front and give his welcomed comment about the 13R approach. He was always well dressed and reminded me of the Frank Sinatra era, especially since he was based on PSP. Good Guy.

Oh, Scotty. He's the reason I work here.

For you guys on the CRJ, whats that green line on the airspeed indicator? Can you go below it?

"Low-Speed Awareness Cue (Green Line) The green line is a low-speed awareness cue, which is 25% above shaker speed. It is continuously calculated, and is based on current aircraft configuration (i.e., flaps, gear) and flight conditions (i.e., bank angle, gforce). It is a reference only."

I couldn't find anything in the SOP that prohibits you from going below, it's just a reference line.
