Full motion sims

Full motion sims suck. You will hate them.

Full motion sims only suck for us because when we are in one we are getting tested or about to get tested. IF there was nothing riding on it, it would be fun again.

everyone who says they suck and ask why would you do it, I assume are pro pilots. I hate them to, but I could see why a student pilot would want to get in one. Remember back when you were one, a level D sim, we thought was so cool.

if you want to do, do it. I was getting so burnt out from instructing, and then Mpenguin set up a M&G at alteon LB. I went, got to get in an MD-11 sim and shoot an approach and land. It reminded me of what I was working for. I am glad i did it. So if you're not short on cash, and really want to mess around in the sim, more power to you.

Very true. I was a bit bitter (?) in my above post.

They are quite fun.

Walking down the steps to one the day of a check....not too thrilling.

oh pssh. True you will hate them if been tested. But when i was searching for some youtube vids about full sims, There is this store that offers sim rides; I mean AIRBUS/BOEING sims to play around paying a price dedicated to sim thrillers. But i don't remember.

I was in a 737NG @ Alaska Airlines once and I was thrilled by the power once I throttled it up and feeling how realistic it is...:nana2:

I might be going to ATL for delta's Level D 767 sim... the instructor I know said they are like 5,000 an hour (I can't believe it still, I think he was exaggerating) and another 1,000 for the instructor if anyone wanted to rent it

I was going to get this internship with spirit, but my buddy got it instead (because he didn't have to do an interview with the mean base manager unlike me lol) and he actually hated it and left. anyhoo... he got on the airbus sim... what a lucky bastid

Biz jet sims are the most expensive. I paid for my interview prep sim in an Atlas 747-200 sim and it was $550 with instructor per hour. That 767 sim is nowhere near that much. I believe Alteon charges roughly $20K for the 757/767 type and that includes ground training, manuals, and 36 hours in the sim.

I know a lot of DL’s Sky Team partners use their SIM but I highly doubt they are that much. When I was there I was told the SIM operate nearly 24 hours a day. At 5k you’d think DL would get out of the airline business and into the sim business.

Im being tested in the sim and its still fun to me! Its a blast. Maybe its because its my first time in training...
