Alright, fess up. You know there has to be guys here on JC who took checkrides with this guy. It went on for seven years!
There was another DPE out of Flying W who had his authority pulled a year or two ago. He was doing 3-4 check rides a day. I sent a student to him once...he was there less than an hour!!
Alex.
I think I took something with him but it's not in my logbook under Harrison Bishop, I remember a guy named Bishop that would come by MMU doing checkrides and the like but maybe my memory is fuzzy. The guy I met that I remember being "Bishop", by all outward appearances, was outstanding and warm and outgoing. I hope my memory is flawed.

I remember he came to atp ttn to utilize the seminole every year for his currency check. Word had it, if you wanted your ticket, you'd go to.this guy. Warning flag!

Was working there back then. Met him a couple times. Was a really nice guy. Great attitude. Definitely somewhat of a surprise, just based off of his demeanor. Never heard too much about him thoughI took my multi at TTN ATP last March, they didn't use Bishop then. (happily)
From what you guys remember, was he the african-american guy?
That's what I remember... I'm hoping I met another Bishop because I really thought that guy was great.
Yup, then thats the same Harry Bishop I know. He really was a great guy. Really nice. So if I'm reading this right, this only
affects those that took checkrides on his days off that he was getting tips for. This doesn't affect those that actually took a legal FSDO checkride with him that wasn't compensated. I'm asking this for a "friend." And Joe, I didn't know you were up at MMU for training. We probably crossed paths and didn't even know it.
Hehe could have been. Lots of MMU guys on here. You remember Sky Blue aviation over there?
Sure do. I was at Certified a couple doors down.
I imagine that's the whole reason for the "look back" period. 180 days sticks in my mind, but it might be 60 days. BUT...I know when the Florida A&P crap hit the fan, there were about 50 FEs that I know of (alot of DHL guys too) that had to be re-examined, and they had held the tickets MUCH longer than 180 days.

You can be re-examined anytime the validity of your cert. is in question. I don't believe there is a time limit.
