Usually I just throw the joystick at the computer and start yelling at the computer screen!

That usually dosen't fix the problem but I feel a lot better afterwards.

Have you tried calibrating the joystick?

Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Gaming Options --> Then calibrate the joystick!

Are these the default a/c or add-ons? Sometimes the .air files in the add-ons are whack, especially if they are designed to be AI aircraft. I had an RJ once that would get about 5 feet off the ground, then just go level until it hit something.

all my aircraft on FS2002 are all gray expect for a few..i think my computer is too slow or something

I had a similar problem with one of the yokes I had. Just could not get it to calibrate correctly, so I returned it and got the CH products yoke - and haven't had a problem since.

Another problem you may be having is that your video card isn't quite up to the task.

Luckily for me, my wife's company paid for the installation of RoadRunner and we couldn't run it off of our old computer, so we upgraded (Dude, I got a Dell!) and haven't had a problem.

Best of luck!

As CitationKid said, try re-installing FS2002. If that does not work then look at the joystick as being the likely culprit. If so then re-install the drivers for that... as a last resort try a new stick.

Here's another idea. As best you can, try flying with the keyboard or mouse. Disable the joystick in the Control Panel first, so it doesn't send ANY signals to FS2002. If it does the same thing with the mouse or keyboard, it's probably not the stick.
