Remember, you can build a new machine relatively cheaply!! It may not be an ultimate screamer, but it'll beat what you're running now!!

If you salvage your case, hard drive, cables, etc and buy an AMD chip and MOBO with integrated sound/LAN, you could probably be up and running for under $300!!

I need to ask my parents. I have no income! I applied to many jobs but their not needing me at the time.

Create your own little hustle...everybody needs a hustle on the side (especially in the aviation field... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif).

Those old people have lawns (not big ones, though) in South Florida. They might not have the strength to mow them on their own, so they may be willing to pay a young, more able person to do it for them. Hint hint.

I think I got my new processor and mobo for a little under $200. As long as you don't go top of the line (which will be outdated by the time you get home anyway), it can be done cheaply. Another thing to look at is how much memory you have and what video card you have. If you're down there on memory, an extra stick can go a LOOOOONG way with MSFS.

That doesn't happen here. The homes are usually part of an association which charges them a monthly fee. The fee already includes landscaping from a professional company.

Carry groceries for a dollar (people will pay a buck for you to load their groceries). If you do that eight times in an hour, you'll be making more than minimum wage.

Walk dogs for some of those old people. I live in an area with an association, and they don't pay professionals for that.

How about babysitting? Lot's of money there!!

There are millions of ways to (legally) make a little bit of cash, believe me.

I live, I tried to help out a 95 year old women with her groceries and she refused. I also see her wash her car from time to time. I used to make $20 a car when doing car washes at my old house. I live in a place with more elders now and the put a limit on everything.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Good effort though, Lloyd.

I am trying Aloft. I'm thinking about washing airplanes at the airport or something. It's just that down here people are really picky about their stuff. We also have lots of immigrants who take these jobs when they arrive. It sounds like a whole bunch of excuses but I'm trying. I applied at many places and tried asking some pilot friends at FXE. The summer is a terrible time to look for work. Everyone is at it.
