Frustrated

Is this your first burn out?

My first one was the hardest. Now I just take a day or two off when i'm feeling burnt.
It helps alot.

Trust me, every CFI has thought about "going back to school", and I know some who have.

My first major one yes.

I'm drowning my sorrows into a Full Moon or two or 10 (See Insert) relaxing to some tunes and have a day off tomorrow. And by off I of course mean no students and no pay.

I'll probably be back into the swing of things tomorrow but I'm going emo for the day.

Off topic but your sig made me LOL Golden-Eye is pretty EPIC.

Insert for MikeCWeb: Full Moon is an abbey ale which is brewed w/ roasted malts and dark belgian sugar.

Can I please get some cred back from the Bud Light Lime???

Ive had the feeling of passion being sucked out of aviation through the hole in my bank account.

all i can say is when the better situation comes up, whether it is more money, cooler equip or better destinations, it all comes back! And then it fades again... really though, see the career out a little bit more, even in this rough industry, paying your dues is the hardest and it usually gets better.

I thought I did the noble thing of not mouching off my family anymore then I already am and declined. My parents just called me back and offered to pay for it, but I'm done. I'm done being a burden on them.

Take their offer of a plane ticket.

I feel your pain, but there is a big difference from being a drunk who is still living with his mom, vs a guy who is working his tail off and still needing a little help.

Sounds gay...and there is no redemption for Bud Light Lime. That's the gayest beer on the face of the earth, aside from Michelob Ultra.

You have to take 3 brave bull shots to get your man card back...google it.

Everyone gets down every now and again, no worries.

As bad as things are now they can always be worse, just try to find something to smile about when you are really feeling like crap. It doesn't matter how small it is, just smile about something. Trust me when I say it will get better.

Attitude determines altitude!

Better. One of these days we'll get you drinking a stout and a porter.
On your op, don't give up. But remember this is the first of MANY challenges in this career. Man up and get it done, you'll be more proud later.

It's hard to keep getting up in the morning to instruct when you know there will be at least three more years of this crazy work schedule before there's any hope of an airline or corporate career. Even then, we'll be fighting with thousands of others for a crappy salary and meager benefits.

Sounds like you became a CFI only to build time and move on. I pity your students- I really do; they're just a meal ticket to you. Do you care in the least if they're making progress toward their rating? Or is it just as well that it's taking twice as long as it should because, well, you're building time too?

Maybe what you should try doing is ACT like a professional. One way to do that is to give your best effort even when you don't effing feel like it.

It seems like whatever has been posted on here lately, somebody has to come in and preach like they are Jesus himself. I understand when it is warranted, but it seems like nobody can post anything without people coming out of the woodwork to ridicule. This board needs a Xanex.

I am going to go a different way here than most I guess...Good for you for not taking the parents money.

God knows why my folks did this, but they never gave me a cent and always gave my sister anything she ever needed. Even times of what I thought was dire need, they didn't poney up a cent. Even when my sister didn't need it, they bought her a car.

Now both in our mid 30s, I have managed to live my own life without a penny of help since I moved out at 18, yet she has tapped the folks out for alot of dough, and every government handout systems well.

Don't give up after 6 months of hardship, but get it on your own. The reward is that much sweeter.
