Frontier

Has Frontier seen any impacts to capacity/growth or pilot hiring to due to coronavirus hysteria? I know Spirit has cut capacity for April, unsure about their pilot hiring situation.

As of now things are full steam ahead. But they said they're monitoring things day by day.

as of now, no, but it's early and we've had multiple correspondence from the higher ups......so who knows.

Spirit is making no changes in hiring at this time per CEO email this afternoon, just a slight reduction for April.

I don't think the sky is falling. Please see @Derg post in General. Wash your damn hands and stay home if you're sick. HOWEVER!! I believe that I read on CNBC that UAL's Kirby indicated their bookings were down 25% and revenue down 70% (!!!). Businesses and venues are cancelling events. It doesn't matter if we keep the planes clean and we stay healthy. If people are scared to travel, or whatever venue they want to travel to is closed, they're going to stop buying tickets. Thinking that this event can't or won't impact ULCCs is INCREDIBLY naive. I don't think we're going anywhere, but I don't think it's a stretch to see growth and hiring stop temporarily.

Anecdotally, I flew 5 days in a row (including some sick PAF action, bro!) and I don't think there were more than 10 open seats on any flight except one.

Get comfortable in your seat, we'll get through this.

OMG, I love commuting to Philly SO MUCH. Just kidding. Sort of.

Seriously, though. I'm grateful for my seat and my job, I came up during the dead decade and got my first furlough before even getting to the airlines and went through my first (I hope, last) bankruptcy 8 months in to my first airline.

Step one. I guess I'd move to Philly except I'm a little afraid to make any big changes at this moment. Denver F/O was nice, though. Easy commute.

BB just announced 10% cut in April, up to 20% cut in May including a hiring freeze (only positions required for operation will be filled, doesn't specifically state pilots..but we know)

enjoy the summer kids....

They finally got the downgrade from AA?

And it just hit us too. Hiring freeze, capacity reduction of 10% for Apr and anticipated 20% for May. Voluntary leaves coming.
