My parents have a detached garage that never gets used for anything other than storing random crap in, for a while the side door was just open so a bunch of the neighborhood feral cats took up to going in there at night. I remember multiple nights being woken up by the feral stray cat orgy going on in the driveway at 3am.
I think you're biased, and because you're biased you've looked for and found some website that aligns with your opinions. Regardless of the subject matter you will more often than not call out any source that doesn't bolster your opinion regardless of whether or not the article cites sources that do align with your ideology. How many aircraft mechs do you know? The knot stereotype is kinda like the boomer captain stereotype of aircraft mechs-they’re not all like that but enough are that there’s a reason for the stereotype to exist. When I was on facespace I was on a couple aircraft mech pages and a good 75% of it was just this kind of non-stop bitching, and that was on a page that did a great job of culling the political BS.
To be honest, would you have understood anything he wrote regardless? All you want is the signature that tells you it's okay to go fly. I'd guarantee it was just an extremely brief synopsis of the work performed that probably included quotes from manuals or MELs and there is a work order somewhere that has a more comprehensive detailed desciption of the work performed and both are signed. Are you going to check the AMM with regards to the actions taken and verify they're up to your standards and why would you?You're a pilot not a mechanic and you know less about what you're flying than the people that maintain it do. If you're running into MEL deadlines in increments of minutes or hours your company is doing it wrong. I've never worked for an airline so I can't speak to that side of the industry but a class B MEL would initiate an effort to get the airplane home to get fixed, you can cover a lot of ground in three days to get home. Do you fly with class A MELs very often? And you say my situation is rinky dink, perhaps a bit of self reflection is in order. I don't work on airliners, they're not interesting.Incorrect.
I want to know the corrective actions he took to insure that the MEL was complied with. I need to know what specific MEL number he used and the specific time it was done so I know the relief was still valid. I'm not going to hand off a jet to the next captain and say "wink wink, nod nod, it's got a signature I think, good luck".
