Hello everyone,

I just got a call for an interview with Frontier Airlines. Does anyone here work for Frontier?
 
Do it. They are growing by leaps & bounds. Basically trying to become Spirit's twin in the ULCC market. In fact, they've announced that they are opening up a micro-hub for ATL, CVG, and CLE this summer. With SWA, FFT, NKS fortifying some operations in there, should be lowering fares that DL has shored up for so long.
 
Yeah - the ULCC is definitely not the same as a traditional carrier, but for all the horror stories about Spirit, I've had good experiences both jumpseating and as a revenue pax. They have the same parent company as Frontier, and had the highest profit margin in the whole airline industry last year. I think Frontier is positioned to do well also, even though they've had a few growing/transition pains of late. Good luck on your interview!

I believe Indigo sold all of their stock in Spirit before they took over Frontier. But there's no coincidence that they divested one ULCC in order to buy another airline and turn it into a competitor.

Correct they did. Who knows if successful we might see another merger on the horizon.
 
Frontier would be a great first gig...I remember a few years ago wanting to apply to work there but they wouldnt even look at my resume since I didnt have the 3+ years of 121 experience they required at the time. I am really curious why the latest posting just says previous experience preferred. I also see a merger between FFT & NKS by 2017 with the way the new route structure of FFT is going.

I am presuming there is a shortage of experienced dispatchers since the majors are hiring people right now with not even a full year of 121 experience in some cases. Good time to be in the profession.

I think a merger between Frontier and Spirit does make sense; I can also possibly see one eventually between Alaska and Hawaiian with Alaska being the surviving airline, or just having a holding company and two certificates, keeping separate ops along the lines of Air France and KLM. I could also see a JetBlue/Virgin America merger happening someday too. Don't know if Allegiant has any partners that make sense, though - they seem to be having enough issues of their own right now that I'm sure mergability isn't first on their minds.

Anyhow, now back to the original thread, already in progress...I agree, Frontier would be a great first dispatching gig if you can get it.
 
I agree it'll be a first good gig to start out at. I had a interview a few years back when they were transitioning the OCC back to DEN. Best of Luck! Did they say by chance who was conducting the interview?
 
Last I knew, starting was mid 30k, top out 75k. 11 year scale
I believe they are still operating under the bankruptcy contract plus they are in negotiaions
