Frontier Airlines Fly Over-Part91?

Hey,

Got a question for anyone that might be in the know. My airline, Frontier, is taking one of our A319s and doing a fly-over with 3 COANG F16s over the Colorado Rockies home opener here in Denver. I am wondering if it is typical for flights like this to be done as Part91?

If so, according to the FAR/AIM, I don't see a problem with me being allowed to ride up front as an ACM in the jumpseat.

Anyone know if this is permissable FAA-wise?

Done, and done!

I talked to the Chief Pilot of Frontier and he said he has no problem with me getting the jump seat. He did say he would run it through his superiors though so hopefully the people in the suits dont have any problems.

I will not believe it till we push though!

Glad I stayed up last night reading Part 91 in the FAR/AIM!

Can't wait for this to happen, I will keep you guys informed and bring my camera along too.

Should work about the way ferry flights work at SWA. As long as there are no pax on board, they fly 'em Part 91 (at least I think). My friend jumpseated on a ferry from MCO-HOU, and I ALMOST got to go on an MCO-BWI ferry. Couldn't get anyone to cover the rest of my shift though....
 
Part 91 is a section of title 14 of the code of federal regulations which deals with general flight rules. There are seperate "parts" of title 14 for flights being operated for hire (part 135 and 121 mainly).

In this context, part 91 means the airplane is not being used to transport paying customers from point A to point B, but for some other reason which permits the operator to adhere to a more lenient set of rules. Legal Jargon.
