Dang! You almost had that touchdown perfectly. Must've touched right between those frames. Regardless, both shots are nice.

I never brought myself to bring my SLR up to work. The people were too shady for me to risk it. Plus, I probably would've been yelled at for something obscure, given the company I was working for (UAX ground ops at IAD - do the math). I really need to keep a copy of the photographer's right in my bag. I'm tired of going over the same points every time.

I just use a UV filter. I am thinking about getting a circular polarizer though.

I actually got the touchdown but it was not as crisp as I wanted. You ought to bring your camera. Just keep an eye on it.
 
I will down here at DVT. It's not a problem here. Unfortunately, I never got enough up to bring it in to IAD when I worked there. I just didn't find much in terms of a safe place for it, from damage or sketchy characters.
When I get off of the ramp and into the plane (at some point in the next 42 years...), I'll bring it for sure.
