Ah, yes. Weekend warfare at its finest. I still think foreign students are the best to listen to.
When I learned to fly, JAL still had a school in Napa and they had King Airs and Bonanzas all over the place. Many..."interesting" transmissions. One time a Bonanza was making calls for Tracy and I was the only plane in the pattern, looked everywhere, couldn't see him land once or get a hold of him. After a few laps in the pattern over a few minutes, he goes "Oh, I SO SORRY! I am at (other airport)! ATTENTION ALL, A BONANAZA IS IN THE PATTEN AT (airport). I hope you have a warm and joyous day in Tracy everyone! Bye!". All in extraordinarily broken English. I keyed the mic and laughed until I cried.
On a serious note, I really respect those guys, they have to learn a new language and move across the world for months to follow their dream, imagine if we had to do that. Gotta admire it regardless of the stories you hear.
