From nothing to CFI...

Finally my boss man is looking at buying a S300C to lease out to a flight school to one of our normal stops about 3hr drive (40 min flight) from here. After a little though was talking about me getting my private -> CFI and maybe doing flight training out of CS here. In every ones opinion, what would be some of the best things to study up on for this, best way to transition and any other advice y'all have.

Learn how to hop on one foot while simultaneously rubbing your stomach, patting your head and whistling "Flight of the Bumblebee".

If your adding on it should be easy. Your checkride will consist of more information pertaining to the helicopter and less about navigation since you are already are a pilot. (I'm assuming)

Just when you here the horn in an autorotation...don't pitch down like in an airplane...LOL ;-)

might have to pitch it down .......

....the audio definitely gets your attention. But a nice ship like a Huey with it's high inertia system, builds it back up quick-like.

Yup... Flying mom, think HOGE hover or just flying at an airspeed below min auto speed when the engine quits.

Agree. And it'll definitely get your attention. High hovering auto at OGE.....better darn well get the nose down and some forward speed going, or you'll definitely smack hard. But, she's new....she'll learn.

Here's one for you: Never realized the Chinook (or Chin-nook as the Brits say it, rather than Shinook) was so maneuverable. Watching their tactical descents into the FOBs out here is interesting. They go out as a team with a Lynx escort, and drop out of the sky in a tight spiral to their LZ. Neat to see for such a large helo.
