French Carrier Aviation in OEF

You're at Meridian, you get the joke.

 I have to admit that they aren't what I thought they would be like, but still fun to poke fun at of course. One of the french exchange IP's was telling me about a German exchange pilot they had flying super E's. Apparently he had been warned to give the stick a solid pull after the cat stroke to prevent settling off the deck. So he did just that, perhaps with a little bit more strength than intended, and essentially over-rotated and departed the jet just forward of the bow. The guy successfully ejected and made it out ok. (I think there may be a youtube video of this out there somewhere actually) My IP described this as the last German victory over a French aircraft in recorded history :laff:

How dare the french use hard power to project political force across the globe. . .much less assist in OEF, back to wine and cheese.

Nah, it's too tough to actually say thanks.

x2. Good video though. Good soundtrack too...from one of my favorite TV shows.

The French I worked with over in OEF were the special ops guys down in the southeast of the country who we occasionally supported. Very professional and effective dudes. At that time (early '02) there were French AF Mirages based at Kabul airport, but we didn't work with them much, since they were under ISAF, and did other mission taskings.
