Freight Jobs

No pasa nada.
So here's the scoop, I'd love to stay at my company, but if I do, I'll be an FO for 4 years, the time it would take to get my ATP. What I really want to do is (within a year or so) start building some multi turbine pic, and I love flying freight. Anybody got an ideas of some good freight companies to work for that have 1900s, king airs, or metros or something to get some multi turbine pic?

Also, they have to be willing to upgrade guys without an ATP

I know of

Airnet, Amflight, but that's about the limit.

Freight Runners Express operates a diverse fleet that includes a 1900, BE-99s, a King Air 90 and 200, aswell as a couple Cessna 402s and 206s. I've heard they may hire at IFR mins, but their site says 2,000TT for BE-99 PIC. A member here just interviewed with them...

cool thnks!

Here's my two cents-
Ameriflight operates 99's 1900's and Metros- single pilot.
Everyone I've met there gets upgraded rather quickly. If you have any multi at all I think they start you in a piston twin and then quickly put you in the 99.

Sounds like you have enough experience to go right into the 99 at least.

As far as I've seen what they publish for basic hiring mins is higher than what they bring you in at.

I guess it depends on where you want to live, right?

I will tell you from my personal experience. I worked for a smaller freight company flying Cessna 402s. The Ameriflight guys and gals I knew always had it better than I in terms of schedule, pay, maintenance and quality of equipment. Unfortunately, Ameriflight didn't have a route where I wanted to live.

Good luck.

just curious what's with wanting to upgrade without an atp? i am assuming you aren't 23 yet. one issue you will have is all eligable ondmand 135 ops require an atp for the PIC.

We need captains on the shorts, BAD.....IFR 135 mins and you might just be a candidate...And with a flow through to UPS in our new contract with them, it might not be a bad call....PM me for details

Business is booming and there are tons of 135 ops out there. Types of equipment flown, safety record, route location, pay, QOL, management, company stabilty & duty hours make a huge difference on who to be calling.
Last week I researched a Falcon 20 job when they called about the resume I faxed them. Scared the pants when I read of all the planes they've lost.
They set a FAA record it seems with 2 seperate crashes on the same day!
Good luck

some of the captains at my company dont have an ATP and its part 135...

your company might not be an eligable on-demand. the major key is with "eligable" status, you can depart for an airport that doesnt report weather using the area forcast.

I dont know what loop hole we use or what the stipulation that keeps us from having to abide by that, but I know they wouldnt knowingly break an FAR..You have to have a type for CA but no ATP....We have 1 jumpseat available so that would be our only PAX...I think it has something to do with having less than 19 or so PAX which we dont carry more than 1....

You guys probably aren't "eligible" then on those flights.
Also check your Op Specs. A057 deals with Eligible On-Demand Operations.
