Freelance Flight Instruction Cost?

Would anyone happen to know what the average rate for single engine flight instruction/ ground instruction per hour is through a freelance flight instructor (aircraft fee not included).

Depneds on where you live and what the instructor charges. I charge $45/hour for flight/ground. Other places it is more. I know some instructors around here who teach for free. I don't/won't.

$40.00 is about average around the Michigan area.

The average in the DFW area is $40/hr for single and $50/hr for multi.

More than likely you'll find more experience instuctors working freelance. I'd expect to pay as much or more than the local flight schools charge, but in turn most likely find a better experience. I work freelance, so of course, my opinion could be skewed.

I charge $40/hr and I'm in a fairly rural area of North Carolina. I'm considering an increase to $45/hr for 2011.

40 for single, 50 for multi in Wyoming. I need to raise it though. It seems as higher the price, the more students I get, I cant quite figure it out.
