Free in-house Delta Pilot Job Fair

Doug, the rabble isn't (and hasn't ever been) about you, or your position with the company you work for, or how many ways you attempt to help those of us who would not only like to work for your company, but also for other similar companies of similar stature.

As said before, you're a rockstar and your help is incredibly valuable and phenomenally appreciated. Please don't change that, at all.

That being said, the environment on some JetCareers threads where Delta can Do No Wrong and Everything It Does Is Divinely Inspired and Don't You Dare Say a Bad Word about Delta is a little tired. Again, this isn't from you, who doesn't even name where you work -- we are talking about other forum members participating and who largely want to work at Delta.

I realize that people can be and are enthusiastic about places to work (on both sides of the hiring table), but sometimes the butt-snorkeling and cheerleading is just ridiculous.
Concur, heartily. And at risk of sounding like I'm negating all that @Hacker15e just said, I'll say what I've said before: Thank you, @Derg. I may occasionally seem a pill, but I'm never ungrateful.

Fair enough. As they say in education, 'you've gotta take the student from where they're at". So we'll take it as an incremental improvement. I see what you are saying, and given that context and perspective, it makes sense. But can you see my point that when one intentionally closes one's eyes, then opens them after a decade, one should not congratulate oneself for overcoming blindness?

It's been almost twenty-four hours but seeing how the thread has evolved I feel somewhat uneasy.

I can of course see your point and I saw your point last night. The rub is that to me it was very clear I wasn't going to do any significant clarification last night.

Nevertheless, in the end - you and I may agree more thank it appeared.

Take care!

FWIW, SD said in the weekly missive that it was a big hit and that it will be happening again.

Also, anyone wanna work for Endevour? Active mainline employees now can recommend applicants to Pinndevour and get $2000 if they successfully pass OE.

Or they could just raise everyone's pay and not have to deal with these silly bonuses! ;-)

I know this may sound harsh but Delta is free to recruit and run their hiring process however they see fit. I doubt the folks in charge spend a lot time and effort worrying about what kind of message board complaining they may stir up. If you don't like how they run it, then don't apply. Pretty simple.

For those of us that actually went there: I think it was a really well run job fair. Less awkward standing around, more meeting with actual people who work there, and a friendly non-confrontational vibe.

It was free, they fed us, and drove us back and forth to ATL, what more can you ask for!

It's kind of funny how things have morphed over the years. This used to be a "I was hired at XYZ regional!!!" forum. Then everyone started getting hired and it turned into "Your regional sucks. Mine is the best. But all regionals suck. I can't wait to move on!" And now that people are being hired by "the big boys" it has changed into "My legacy is better than your legacy/LLC,ULCC, whatever. We do things this way and that's the best!"

Quite comical actually.

I heard third hand that by then end of the weekend people coming through the door didn't have the chance to speak with anybody. They were basically just handing in their resume at that point. Any truth in this?

I had a 11am slot Sunday and I talked to a recruiter for about 3-4 mins.
