As someone who's father went through top gun and made me see it 3 times in the theater because he knew all the pilots, not a big fan....
Though I did get to hear lots of stories about how Tom Cruise was an abbreviation for a cat. And Val Kilmer got so drunk he puked into the top and into the front seat of his Porche outside the officer's club at Miramar....
