god and MSNBC keeps talking about "touch and goes" when showing the footage of it flying a low pass for visual inspection.

And now we have the great John King :sarcasm: on CNN and even he is referring to touch and goes.......

they are talking about trying to get up to KPDX for the longer runways, but the wx is not the best:

it looks damn near CAVU to me, a little fog to the south but it's the willamette valley, what do you expect.

and hell, he had enough fuel I would have declared an emergency and flown that mo-fo down to gulfstream's headquarters and landed it as close to their building just in case there's a fire :o

Oh, now they are saying the president of NIKE is on the a/c, and they should make sure all the Ts are crossed and Is are dotted... Give me a break!

doesn't matter, got the gear down by using the back up pneumatic system and a combo of +/- G's

Awsome landing with all 3 gears down! Whoever managed to get that gear down and locked better get a big fat bonus by the Nike president and CEO.:rawk:

Erik.

sweet! congrats to the crew for working through the problem! how about a 1,000 shares of Nike stock for a bonus?

My TV doesnt work so I can't see anything. Because we all know that I'm missing out on a once in a lifetime event :sarcasm:

Anyway, is it me, or have the media outlets started to televise these "plane malfunctions" more since the JetBlue incident.

My last random comment, if the media can be so wrong about aviation, imagine the other subjects that they report to us as fact but are actually false. America, land of the free, what you gonna do. :rawk:

But in the spirit of pilots/management relations, they'll probably be fired for the delayed arrival. :whatever:

According to my ground school instructor, He was on the right seat with Customer who are taking brand new G-IV all the way Van Nuys. On the the approach, he thought he had total hydraulic lost. Executed emergency gear extension with a good landing. Found out, mechanic forgot to put in hydraulic fluid. a week later, he got a job with that particular customer

you guys are lucky. You couldnt even listen to a single AM talk station around here without listening to the stupid ass media blab about stuff they know nothing about. Bunch of dumbasses in my opinion.

hopefully Santa will bring me a Sirius or XM radio for Christmas and then i dont have to listen to all these clowns.

You don't have to listen to them now!

It's amazing the things that I hear and see in the world around me when I shut the TV and radio off...

:)

Funny story. I was taking off from PDX about 20 minutes before they touched down. Captain looks out the window and says "Hey, we're on the news!" We didn't know what was going on, yet. Why is this funny? Because there were a crapload of news trucks at PDX and the plane was going to Hillsboro! We listened to the rest of it on comm2 until we had to bail out to get ATIS.
