The appendix of the Flight 831 document has a really good section on decoding the HI screens in Sabre. Helps a ton.
CatCrew was modern compared to this.

Yea I've browsed it. But there's so much I just get lost and wander elsewhere haha.
Unless things have changed at Eagle, you'll need to bid vacation, lines, open time, trip trades etc through DECS. - it's a really crappy situation with RF messages - send the RF messages and then back up with e-mail to scheduling - at least with the e-mail you get a time stamp and you have a tiny chance of winning the grievance you'll inevitably need to file when you don't get what you're supposed to get awarded.
It's a common occurance to get the HI6 from scheduling - the printer in scheduling crapped out and messed up all your RF requests from 1600 yesterday to 1200 noon today - please resubmit...
It really sucks bidding lines when you're mid seniority - it's better to just do Eagle-Quick-Bid and have the app do the manual DECS entries for bidding lines.
When you can only hold reserve, manually bidding reserve lines isn't too bad (as long as there aren't more than 100 reserve lines) - a simple matter of bidding the least suck, then block bidding all the lines, and then block bidding all the composite lines.
But then again, don't know if yall got PBS and it all goes out the window now.
