Forum Suggestions

Hey Doug-

The old forum thread list used to show if you had posted in a thread. Any chance of restoring that capability?

Us old guys sometimes can't remember which threads we've posted in...

Any way to make the "go to first unread post" green dot a little bigger? My fat fingers have a hard time finding the right spot on the iPad.

Aaaaaand go with "that's what she said" comments.

Your avatar shows up in a smaller version in the lower right hand corner of the avatar of the thread originator. It is only working for posts made since the switch-over, as far as I can tell.

Can you set up rotating background images? Maybe pull from the previous monthly contest winners in the pictures from the road section?

Or maybe I should say "alternating" images. Don't want to get vertigo.
 
Perhaps an Unmanned forum. Seems like a growth industry/segment.

Also, an Autism forum could be cool. Perhaps with 2 sub-forums:
1. for high-functioning types to commingle, and
2. a sub-forum for caregivers (parents, etc.) of low functioning types within the community to converse and give/take support, tips, etc.

The Autism suggestion? Well, for high functioning types, it is not by default or off topic as to why they'd be here. It's kind of like why a George Carlin video on youtube has so many 'likes'. People who 'dislike' him generally aren't going to go find one of his clips to watch. I doubt HFAs without an aviation interest would wonder into the place. Also, there are plenty of HFAs in aviation and they communicate differently, could potentially like their own identity in communicating aviation realated topics, etc.

I'm certainly not saying turn the place into autism hangout. Just suggesting allowing those who are already here and do it a little differently to have a place to do it their way when they feel like it. Throw the low functioning idea into family life or truncate it all together. I would agree it is 'off topic'.
 
Would it be possible to add a student pilot forum? I see that there is one for CFIs and Checkrides, but nothing from the student's pov.

Underneath a person's picture, name, and title, there used to be a line saying where that person was from. I'm not sure why, but I liked it.

Click on their avatar, and a bunch of info (location included) pops up :)
