Former Freight Pilot Looking For a Job

IT Architect/ Former Cirrus Charter Pilot
I am trying to find a decent paying job out there. Here is a little about my background: I have 5,700 TT, 1,320 ME, and 1,862 dual given. My last flying job was for a Part 135 operator out of RDU, Ram Air Freight. I was laid off from there a year ago. I took a non-flying job winding electric motors after that, and just got laid off from that job. I would like to get back into flying but I really don't want to work for a regional. I am trying to find a decent paying corporate, CFI, or cargo job. I have lots of experience flying single pilot IFR in all weather. I would appreciate any help.
 
I'm not sure if it's something you'd want to get back into but Flight Express is always hiring.

I was in a similar situation as you 2 years ago. After a flight review and an IPC with a local flight school I started applying everywhere. FLX was the only place willing to hire me with no recent experience.

There are several threads about FLX that can probably answer most questions. If not shoot me a PM if needed.

Why not teaching? Find a plane, place ad on Craig list, go around airport and schools for desperate students . Make yourself a name and clients. Open a flight school. U live in a fantastic coutry, use these advantage...

Thank you for the info guys. The lack of turbine time has always been a stumbling block for me, but I will keep looking and see what I can find out there. I plan to go around to every airport that I can find and put my name and resume out there and see what happens. It seems like I might have to bite the bullet and work for a regional for a while to get some turbine time.
