If only I had 1200tt
As a busy CFI, it's not that hard to log 100 hours a month.
Then at 1500, you can apply with no tenure contract.
Agreed. Talked to good amt of CFIs that log between 80-120 a month.
Still, it's a good fit for some. I could see someone with a family doing it just to keep benefits and 401K contributions rolling.
Mesa and PDT now have such programs. I think the hiring pool is starting to thin. TSA is having major performance issues and I wouldn't be surprised if pilot hiring was a part of their problems.Wow. Just the tip of the iceberg I suspect. I'll take desperation for $400, Alex.
Is that reimbursement taxable income if they reimburse for your time building? I assume it is taxable income per the IRS.
How about a $13k, $26k or $39k sign on bonus paid upon IOE completion for each year of contract for those who are more qualified and would like to be able to afford to start an airline career?

I'm one of the qualified pilots ALPA has been saying refuses to fly/work for a regional for minimal wage equivalent pay. Yes I can take home more cash @ IN-OUT burgers. Or as a Dispatcher for a regional (not including OT pay at that).
Throw all the fancy pipeline dreams, shinny jets, and bounuses (nicely taxed) on flyers & Ads all they want. BOUNUS is not salary/wage. It comes and goes by the wipe of a pen. A bonus does not tell an employee that the employer values his or her skill.
As long as regionals are filling classes, there's no need for them to change. There is no shortage of money. Every company that operates a jet is turning a profit right now. There is a shortage a willingness to change. Regional CEOs are going to continue to pocket gigantic salaries, and pay their pilots garbage. It looks a lot easier to blame the ATP rule than it does the economy. Apparently, shareholders are buying it...
