For all you E-170-175 pilots.

I was flying home from O'hare yesterday on one of these beasts and noticed that the pilot didn't use spoilers on landing. I was wondering did he just forget to arm them or are they not necessarily required on certain landings? I believe Laguardia's RWY 4 is a bit over 7,000 feet long, I don't know if that plays into anything.

I don't fly the E-170/175, but I'd be shocked if the spoilers had to be armed for landing. They automatically deploy on the EMB-145, so I have to assume they kept that function on the JungleBus.

They auto deploy on landing. If you look on the EICAS you will see that they have deployed on the rollout. Everything (just about) on the 170 is automatic. I feel like I really just sit there most of the time.

Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but I'm a pilot, so spoilers, maybe?

HA FTFW!!! Lock the thread, nothing can top this!!! :D

LGA is the only airport I get my jollies up about.
My new favorite approach is the circle to 13 off of 22.
The expressway visual is for pansies....

Of, and yes they are automatically deployed on touch down.
