Found this the other day on youtube, not too sure if it's on here or not, but it's still pretty sweet.

Sweet, I wonder how many CFIT accidents they have each year there.

BOOOO!

Probably none, look into PADU airport, lots of terrain there, same with PAJN, a fair amount of terrain here, and big airplanes still go in there. Hell, that guy had a lot of room to turn around, you should see when the king air goes into PAGY, that's impressive to me.

We get it, you fly in Alaska.

Lol, whatever, fine, those are the only ones that jumped into my mind, how about Paro Airport in Bhutan, there's a video out there of a BAe146 landing there, I'll see if I can find it, or maybe, Lukla airport in Nepal

All I was getting at was BOOOOOOOOO there aren't that many CFIT incidents, and its bad form. Or the one I thought was the coolest, Matekane airport in Lesotho:

Did that answer the question?

In dutch there haven't been too many, don't know about isafordur.

According to the NTSB, in Dutch I've got 1 fatal accident since 1960, a DC3 that flew into the volcano.

In the NTSB database, I put in iceland, and all of the flights that were fatal since 1996 only 7 people died, and all were caused by loss of engine power due to failure, or fuel starvation. No CFIT that I could find.

Greenland had more fatal terrain impacting accidents. Most of their fatals were CFIT.

Listening to my uncle tell stories of flying the Chieftan in and out of PAGY makes me go  and :bandit:.

Seriously, if you're landing 20, even in the scareakee its a bit of a turn and dump. Its not bad, but I'd be a little sketched out to go in there with the 1900.

Cool video.

In other news, JC appears to be the first forum this season to be affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder, better know as SAD. JC is thought to be hit first because most members are cockpit riding, UV loving junkies. The pilots have been advised to leave the warm glow the computer screen and head outside, but cautioned their baguettes my take a few hours to thaw after returning inside.

He was talking about taking off 2 and turning over town.:bandit:

That's fairly sketchy if the winds aren't blowing hard enough. Even in the Cherokee were having to milk the turn with flaps if we've got a full load. But if its blowin' more than ten favoring 02 its easy dues.
