I got some un-welcomed instrument time this past week when some fog across central FL hung around when it was forcasted to lift.

Bottom line - be prepared and have an alternate!! (preferable one that is VFR).

Just my $0.02.

I don't think I have ever seen the visibility actually at zero on any metar. Just out of curiousity what does the "FG8" mean? Never seen that before either.
 
We get some pretty foggy days here, with the flow off the lakes and being up higher.

FG8 means that the sky is 8/8 oktas fog.

I am from CYXU, not far from YHM. I think it's been pretty interesting the past few days... I have tried to get up and do some aerial photo work, but the YHM areas has constantly been poor.

I remember one day it was around 1/4sm in YHM and YKF, and in YQG, it was +15sm, and in YXU, it was around 10 sm.

You guys have certainly been in a whole the past few days!
 
You bet it's been poor! I was doing my flight test the other night, we had to go out west almost halfway to YXU to do some airwork, and we were still at 2500, dodging clouds, drizzle and haze. Yuck
