Flying to the Bahamas

Marsh Harbor was always my favorite. It's on the backside so you get to fly over the other stuff on the way, it's quiet (compared to FPO and NAS) and there are a ton of nice places to go once you get there.

Walkers Cay may be out of reach if you are in a twin. The runway is 2500 feet (if it's even still open). Really amazing place though.

I've been to MYAT in my experimental. Spent three days at Treasure Cay Resort. Remote quiet place and very affordable. Not much night life though.

We flew into Rock Sound on Eleuthera, not a bad airport, huge runway in the middle of the woods it seems. From there we flew to Hawks Nest on Cat Island...fun little 3000ft strip with the 414. Easy walk to the resort, which does have a topless beach.

If I never got back to Bimini it'll be too soon. That island has gone down hill FAST. No bueno amigo. Wait, they speak english in the Bahamas.

Did quite a lot of trips to the bahamas last summer. Not worth it.
People are rude, is way to expensive, food is crap, drugs all over the place.
I did freeport, bimini, nassau, eleuthera and abacos.
They charged be 550$ in Freeport one of the times i went there. They charged me about 70$ for a 2mile cab drive and complained about the tip. The hotel added 80$ gratuity by default. I was offered drugs like pot and coke all over the place. i can keep going if you want!

What are some good places to fly into? I will be going through Miami in a light twin.

Freeport and Nassau are typical run-down Caribbean cities... Inagua has more donkeys than people (and they poo everwhere... no seriously they do), I recommend Exuma, the Berry Islands: you land, pay $20 per person fee, walk across the street to an amazing beach off of a postcard, (its shown as an R on the sectional but its not private), Bimini if you like to gamble...Treasure Cay is nice, of the islands I've been too anyways...

Yes. Avoid FPO like the plauge.

Flew to Georgetown in the Exumas chain. Spent 5 days on a sail boat, ate steak every night. Don't know anything else about the Bahamas but if what I did is an option, I would highly recommend it.

Go to Cat Island MYCB and have lunch (or stay) at Fernandez Bay Village. This might be the best beach I have ever seen.
