No offense, but as someone of German heritage, I can say that the Germans aren't exactly known for their fashion. You know, unless you're talking about uniforms.

Head over to Britain and see what they're doing on Savile Row. Forward pleats are still quite standard, and not just for "dads."

Anyway, piece of advice: women know more about what looks good on men than men. Except gay men. Pleats look like something a dad would wear, and I don't mean in the sexy "call you daddy" way.

I'm just trying to help you save money on getting laid. You won't even have to pay her if you're dressed well.

Meh, wait a few years. Pleats will be back. Fashion is an extremely limited domain, prone to endless repetition. It's all about invidious distinction. If it were not, we'd all dress like the Amish... or Delta Pilots.

It is Alaska, no one cares. But they are super comfortable for my messed up feet, they float in the water, and awesome on ice.

I would suggest that you in that suit, while looking quite dapper, don't represent the fashion panache of the general public. Unless you're getting a tailored suit, off the rack pleats aren't going to look good. Flat front is a lot easier to buy, and look good in, on a budget for a casual wardrobe.

Edit: I should add that all my suit pants are pleated, while all my dress pants are flat front. But you could write what I know about fashion on a gnats ass in capital letters, so take that for what it's worth.
