Yep, basically. I like the SPOT locator idea, I just haven't got one yet.
Plane I've been flying has some sort of GPS panel mounted, but I don't know if it works. I haven't messed with it yet.

I am a huge fan of Fltplan.com but would not rely on their Go! as an EFB on an IFR flight. I think it is still too buggy for that.

I've only used the FltPlanGo program a few times in flight, and haven't had it crash on me yet. My issues mainly come from when I open it up and do a couple updates to it. But yes, definitely wouldn't count on it working perfectly all the time.
