Flooding of JFK and LGA

Pilot and A Half (for now
I just read an article about parts of JFK and LGA starting to flood. Do they have a plan in place to get the water off the runways or will they just have to wait for it to dissipate on it's own?

Wonder how the sewer is holding up. (EWR)

With any luck they'll stick a fountain in the middle of it and turn it into a migratory bird sanctuary. :D

I think this is the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel.

You are correct, sir.

I'm stuck in Houston trying to get home to my family, and from what I hear there will be no flights till possibly Wednesday afternoon.

I know Sandy is no Katrina or Andrew, but she definitely made a name for herself. The preliminary reports ranks her in the top 5 for damage costs.

If I owned a float plane in NY I'd be itching for the gusts to die down so I could go do some water touch and goes at LGA.

Speaking of seaplane and LGA, while I was there for the tennis tournament, some guy landed what looked to be a 170/180 on floats just to the west of the Whitestone bridge, close to where the old Flushing airport was. Really cool to see such a busy airport work VFR traffic like that.
