Flightlogg.in down?

Well, isn't that interesting. It's been down for me for a couple of weeks now...with that nginx message. On two different computers.

With www, without it, I get the same message. Just tried it again now. BUT if I Google it, then click on it, it works! Thanks, all. I've been waiting and waiting to update my times for two weeks now...like seriously.

Time to go add some entries!

Thought about using one of these sites to keep track of my flight times. Problem is how to convert 25 years of logs over.

Didn't know that was an option. Do tell..

Not an expert on this subject but I have quite a few pages in Excel. Will these programs convert into the correct format?

Logbook Pro will do it (not cheaply) - http://www.nc-software.com/Data-Entry-Service

You could scan the pages and then use something like Amazon Mechanical Turk: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/ Might save you a few bucks.

If you have most of it in Excel, convert it to CSV. Pretty much any electronic logbook can import that. You might just need to move some columns around first.

Good info. Thank you.

BTW, if you are lazy (like me), just put a single line entry in the electronic logbook for totals to date. Will work just fine, the primary utility of an electronic logbook is:
  1. Doing the math for you
  2. Keeping track of currency
  3. Filling out 8710s
#1 is already done for existing hours, and you don't care about currency from 15 years ago. Then just add new time as you normally would.

When I first started with Logbook 10, I had 40 years of logbooks to enter. I just brought the balances forward. It was a lot easier.
