Flight plan format

Doug,

Could you possibly scan in and post one of your flight releases? I am curious to see what DAL's look like. Do you know off the top of your head what planning software you guys use? If anyone working for a regional carrier (ACA guys, I'm looking your way) could do the same, I'd appreciate it. Heck, anyone out there post your company's flight plans (if you can) and let us know what software you use. Thanks!

^^ Eagle; Great site! Thanks... I remmeber you posted that a few months ago and I've been using it since.

Yeah, that is a good site. I always use it to double check my distance and heading calculations for flights, really handly for VFR flt planning. It's also good at suggesting alternates for IFR flts.

Thanks Iain, I totally missed those. That's what I was looking for. Just for comparison this is what UAL's format looks like;

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I meant more examples of airline flight plans. VFR is a totally different story

Rare is a Pt 121 crew who does their own flight planning; that's a function of airline dispatchers. The crews just get the trip sheet with all the flight plan details on it. On the B-777, they don't even have to enter it into the FMS; it's uploaded via a radio datalink right into the box.

When I said "you guys" I meant the company, not the pilots themselves. I think most airlines diseminate info regarding the in house dispatch process(e.g. the planning software) during indoc training, so I would have bet that Doug knew what DAL was using.

The 777 isn't the only one. I know AAL uploads the route to the aircraft via ACARS, at least to the 737/757/767/777. AAL is the only airline I've heard for sure that does this, but it's so easy I would be suprised if nobody else did something similar. And just to clarify, I'm not talking about stored routes in the FMC database.
