Flight Loads

If any pilots need flight load information on US Airways/America West or United for their next commute feel free to ask here or PM me. I know how frustrating it can be when you call an offline airline and the representative will only tell you that the flight "looks ok." Try to ask a day in advance since I don't have 24/7 internet access.

I hope you know you just damned yourself to a PM from me about once every couple of weeks! :)

I kinda like his idea... A while back, I was considering getting a couple of "good" friends together from other airlines and creating a "flight load" super secret society... ;) where we could swap load numbers for each others commutes when needed.

All I get on American when I book on there is... "The load looks bad/OK/great for non-revving..." but I don't know where the cut-off from great to OK, or OK to bad is... It would be nice to see the numbers and see how many non-revs you are up against...

I had an HR guy from American come to me for an IPC/BFR when I was still instructing and he shared with me their internal phone number to check loads... of course... being short sighted at the time, I think I wrote intdown on a post-it note and placed it somewhere where I wouldn't forget it. All my commutes from DFW to EWR while I was on reserve... I cursed myself for loosing that little yellow sticky! :)

Thats like if you call Delta's non rev line you will get either excellent, good, fair or poor.

Same offer here.

I can do the same for Delta and Continental from home and Northwest from work. Now all we need is an American person to complete the loop of "big six"....(Stan)....

Would a commuter forum maybe a good idea? Someone could post the flight they need checked and someone could post the loads.

Also might work as a way to meet and commute to work together? And good commuter tips, cheap places to eat, etc.?

If you need a mod for that forum I would be more than willing to provide my time for it to delete the posts once the day the commuter needed the loads passes.

I can help out on our end! Doug doesn't always have time, but I do...

Glad to be apart of a secret society...now, whose going to create the secret handshake?? hahaha

oh other question - for the folks we dont know that are airline pilots, how do we want to go bout verifying before they're allowed to be apart of the secret society? we don't want just anyone to be able to get flight loads, that could be dangerous.

Hmmm...

Good question... forward you the seniority lists? I guess that can get a bit more labor instensive than you may want... having to prove and verify that each person in the "SSS" is exactly who they say they are and that they work where they say they do...

I'm all for making it easy though... any other suggestions?

Bob

I am not an airline pilot and though not a Delta still have some very good contacts....can I still be in the club...

well, for us, it's fairly easy to look up people... just look at the seniority list...and verify some personal information...

but i can understand if some wouldn't want to go that far!

Even though I am not a pilot (CS agent), with some situational awareness its not too hard to figure out who the pilots are as far as members go. Its the random peeps that pop up that you have to worry about.

I can also get USAir, I will be able to look up United and American if I ever decided to go to one of the training sessions for the computer systems on a day off. maybe this would be the reason for me to do it.

One way would be to look them up on the FAA website. For instance if you look me up you would see an EMB-145 SIC type rating.

I can help out with some odd jumpseats. We still have agreements with a few majors and a lot of commuters.

You have the ability to allow certain members access to a particular forum no? You could allow those who you know to be airline employees access to a "commuter forum." We all have a general idea of who is an employee and who is not. In fact, we could do what interline travel does, which is to have each member wishing to gain access fax in a copy of their ID complete with username.

I would be hesitant about posting these things on a forum. Having this information in semi-public view just isn't the best idebba, IMO. PM's would probably be the best way to handle it.

IE: someone posts that they need to go from ABC to XYZ on such and such a day, by such and such a time. They may even be able to provide a little more information, such as they prefer to commute on XX airline, or go through YY hub. People would then PM them.

Keep in mind this is coming from a person who doesn't say the callsign over CTAF/Unicom freq's when operating at an uncontrolled field...I fully believe in the "1981" concepts...;).
