Man right now I wish I had a full student load, I'm lucky to make 15 hours a week at entry pay and I'm having to use student loans to help cover rent.
Do you have your CFII?
If you don't, get it fast, that's the money right there.
I just found out that if I moonlight as a CFI at the place where I work as an A&P, I make $25/hour.
If I freelance I could probably get away with 30-40 an hour.
My previous gig was about $16/hour.
The only disadvantage is where I work now doesn't have benefits.
I was free-lancing in Park River during my last days in the frozen tundra. These guys were LOADED and very generous. 50/hour. I made about the same per month with 2 students versus the crazy 16 hour days at UND. Anyone still working at UND that's looking for some extra cash, go full stop at these satellite airports and chit chat with the locals. I found these 2 guys from just BSing with a guy that does crop dusting in the area.(while my student was losing his lunch, perfect timing!) He mentioned that there were 2 guys that just bought a plane and neither had their certificates. He asked if I knew anyone with some free time. Uh, THIS GUY!![]()
Does "qualified and assigned" also pertain to CFII and MEI pay?
but some of my friends would have their pay cut to level 1 as soon as a student finished.
