Flight in Class A Airspace with No Transponder...

The operators that do tours around Denali operate under an LOA that allow them to do flights into Class A without a flight plan. Cool stuff....

I thought you could go to 290 and not above...I thought I went to 290 once as an FO...probably wrong though I do have an incipient form of CRS...thanks for the correction:yourock:

You can transit RVSM airspace, but only if you can and are given a continuous climb between FL280 and FL430. I know of a Lear 25 operator locally that has done this on numerous occasions along the east coast, although it does sometimes take a while for ATC to find a hole.

You can be cleared into RVSM and remain there "negative RVSM". It's just tough to do... you're not going to see it on the east coast.

Lol, being a pilot watching the fuel gauges wind down while ATC finds a hole must be fun.
