"It's not clear why the plane was in the air over New York for more than two hours. The plane was operated by regional Chautauqua Airlines, which was not immediately available for comment.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey directed all questions to Delta. Delta then directed questions about the plane's path to Chautauqua Airlines.

LaGuardia and JKF airports are about 10 miles apart. The flight from New York to Dayton usually takes about an hour and 20 minutes."

Funny, Dayton is the worst overnight in the system. No literally, bed bug INN...

I probably know the crew and in glad it turned out okay. Wouldn't be the first time we shut down a NYC airport to do 20 checklists instead of just landing the aircraft.

Ahh, so thats's where all of the Mullin-frown widget 767's went…

Chautauqua.

(I clicked the URL)

Maybe not all of them are in my backyard here at MZJ.......

Btw, your 757s here are being parted out pretty well....looks like they're going to the scrapper quick. DC-9-50s about the same. The 767s have their engines missing, but are still otherwise intact. No telling for how long though.

SouthernJets trivia for you: The L-1011 was the only jet in DL's history to have worn only one livery, the widget. Even though they flew into late 2001, no L-1011 ever got a new scheme, neither the Allen interim scheme in '97, or the Mullin scheme in '00.

The BEST paint scheme Delta ever had! Very professional and iconic look which looked best on their L-1011's, 727's and 757's.

I wish they'd do so some "throwbacks".

Yep...wished they'd go back to that paint scheme permanently. Beats anything they've come up with since!

Something about that black nose and iconic widget on the tail. It's like messin' with the blue Pan Am globe or the taste of classic coke. You just don't do it.....

Huh! We were taxing in as this was going on. They did a low approach. Wondered where they were going to take it.
