flight express??

What is happening to the Baron?
It's not what is happening, it's what has happens when the economy shrinks. As the economy turns around things may change but if you are not willing to move to BNA, forget about the baron, for now. And even if you move to BNA does not mean that you will be able to get into the baron. Most of the gents in BNA are just under Chief Pilot & Director of Training.

I also got invited to the Oct. 4 class. Is anyone else going to be flying in the night before? I am debating driving all the way from Ohio to have a car during training.

For me I flew and just hitched a ride with the guys from the class but since 1 or 2 days after training they want you to be at base then driving might be better

You'd probably have some time to get home and drive to base. I don't think people are leaving as often as they were a couple years back.

For those interested in base options. I know that there is one opening in HOU probably someone from the Oct 4th class will go there.

they have and HOU base now?

See ya leave and things change. Yes, we have things in HOU and ADS down there. We are over staffed a bit, but things can change rapidly.

If anyone going to the Oct. 4th class is driving and is on this forum, would you mind sharing your ride for some cash during training? Or maybe we can get a few people to go in on a rental. Of course, I know it depends on who makes it to training.

That is KEY. Don't secure a rental until you pass day 1. 4 out of 12 people passed the day I went.

I'll be driving up to ORL....be happy to share my ride (if deemed fit to participate in class :rawk:)

Started with 12...down to 6 in ground school now....probably figure out seniority/bases Wed.

Well, hopefully one of you will be offered BHM. We lost the standby pilot up there. But don't let it scare you that it's a "standby" spot. One of the pilots doesn't mind giving the flying to the newer guys.

SD3,

I am finishing up flight training this week. If things go well I will be on my way to HOUSTON this weekend. What are the quirks, annoyances, positives, about this run? How many guys based there? What is the city like?

It's a big city in texas. The open runs will probably change by the time you get out of class anyway, so go study your flows!

Positive rate...gear in transit, (whirrrrrr...clunk), green light out, hydraulic power pump off...how am I doing?

From what I hear, you'd be flying 291 which is HOU-DWH-TYR-HOU. The only other run at the base is 205 and that leaves around 2230.

The only annoyance I can think of for this run is its min pay.

On the upside, its a short duty day and you can easily hold down a day job if you want/need. You start around 1730 and finish around 2100 I think. Really easy run.

Sweet sounds pretty fun and easy! Training complete! Checkride in the am and then hopefully off to Houston!!!!!!!! FLX 291 ....Hope to see you all out there! :dunno: Gotta go flow it up!!!
