Lloyd, that's the flight kit I'm planning on getting when I start making the mad bank as a regional jet CA.

I need to buy a flight case for my new job driving Dash 8's ...since I'm dirt poor I am thinking about purchasing this one for $35 at Office Depot. A captain upgrade in my new hire class bought the same one and it has lasted him for 7 years. Any other recommendations?

Well, you can either buy several Office Depot bags (if you're unlucky) or one good one. In the end, you've spent the same amount of $$$. If my Office Depot had crapped out on me, I was making a better investment. Nothing like having the handle snap on day 1 of a 4 day.....

What's better? Buying a $1500 %$#@ box car that will last a year at most or buying a $12,000 car that comes with $200/month car payments but will last 10 years w/ a warranty, which will still have a high resale value at that time?

We know the answer. The thing is, if you can't afford $200/month payments, you can't buy that new car. If you need a car, you really have one option. Buy the %$#@ box.

I've seen guys carry their pubs in a gym bag. It doesn't look professional, but you really gotta do what you gotta do these days.

My office depot bag lasted about a year. The handle snapped on day one of a four day. It wasn't as big as a regular flight kit, and I had a hard time putting everything in there. I don't recommend it. That said, until you can afford a better one, it's not a bad option. I'll probably go with the LW. Scott just doesn't seem better enough to justify another $100.

I went with the $80 LW vinyl case. Have three 2" binders, my FOM (the little zippered three ring contraption) a 1" jepp, a couple flashlights, my headset case (Seinhiesers) and my sunglasses.

We'll see how well it holds up.

My Heritage case held up just fine for the year and a half I was at Jace's airline. When I switched jobs and added a few hundred Jepps to it, however, the handle finally gave. YMMV.
