I’m beat so I will post more later, but... I had a huge treat today. A pilot I work for fly’s a B-17 for the Commemorative Air force (this one based out of Falcon Field in AZ) and it arrived here in Maine today at KBHB. There was an open seat during a press flight and I got to go! I don’t think I can top this ever. One of 5 that is still flying.

I will post a web link with all of the images I took as well as a few short video clips (when I get a chance). Here is a single picture I took of it on the ramp and a video I took in flight from the top turret. (video is pretty short)

AWESOME!!! I can't wait to see more pics! That's the ride of a lifetime there! Especially since there are so few of them left in flying condition!
 
Here is one more video clip shot from inside the nose. The gentleman sitting up front is the pilot’s father. He flew 35 combat missions over Europe in WWII in the B-17 as a ball turret (belly) gunner. This is his first time in a B-17 since the war.

Very cool!

Often Sentimental Journey comes by gateway and does touch and goes. I've been in the pattern with it a couple of times, definately a neat experience! With operating costs at $3000/hr, Maine must be a very long ways away!
 
I want to do that once before I die. The closest I've been is standing next to the actual Memphis Belle and watching the flying replica of the Belle at an airshow. I'd love to fly in a Fortress one day. Wouldn't mind actually FLYING the thing, either.
 
I've flown in a B-25 and a TBM when I was a teeneager. Absolulety awesome experiences. Warbird pilots love to share their passion! Totally unforgettable!!!
 
They did six more flights today. If the weather is right on Friday I am supposed to fly formation with it so a photographer can get air to air shots of the B-17 with Acadia National Park in the background.

Will post my shots later. Im getting home kinda late each day this week to deal with it.
