An ATP and a bunch of type ratings and I've never even sat in a helicopter. My fiance decided to fix that and got me a little discovery flight - had a great instructor who took his time, and I gradually took the controls one by one and very, very gingerly flew around. I'd read that the Robinsons were very sensitive and the instructor reinforced that during the ground school prior to us flying, and it was just as rumored. Ended up spending ten minutes or so gradually taking the controls one by one in a hover until I was semi-steadily more or less kind of in the vicinity of the pad and almost holding altitude and heading. I'm sure everyone driving by had a good laugh at the obvious drunkard flying that helicopter over there.
Flying that way and then being told I did a good job made me question the sanity of the poor CFI. I felt like I was miles behind a stationary vehicle!
I'm afraid that I may have caught the bug.
