FL180 Cessna 172 Skyhawk

What is the Skyhawk's service ceiling set by the manufacturer?

14,000ft. 172SP. Anyways, I would just hate to hear about someone from this board, or anyone in general, dying, having to make a post about a violation, etc. Scott, if your ever in Vegas, shoot me a PM!

. . . no one on this board hasn't done something in an airplane that didn't qualify as "reckless".

Nope, I've not done anything that qualifies as "reckless." I've done some dumb things perceived as typical of an inexperienced aviator, but nothing that could potential cause me to lose my life or my precious certificate.

Maybe some of us are "smart enough not to brag" and maybe others are too chicken-S to say anything after learning our lessons.

You're probably absolutely correct. Probably a few. . .now, if you ask me about things I've done on the ground or in the military. . .reckless, dumb, even stupid things I've done to write a few volumes. . .and I admited it both then and now, "Man, was I a freakin' idiot for the crap I did 'back in the day.' "

Fortunately, I lived to tell about it, as he did, so others don't make the same mistake I did. Nothing ever to brag about; something others can learn from never to try for themselves. . .

More significantly, as was said here:

That would be depressing. I said far too many "RIP" to friends and co-workers in the military. I wish for my associations with my new aviator friends to be longlasting.

Now, his story? Kinda like hearing an aviation episode of "JackA$$, The Movie." :D ;)

All 59.5 degree banks and always 152&3 eh? You're a better man than I Gunga Din.

Methinks thou doth protest too much. Even Jack McCoy would eat this statement for dinner.

but I had another pilot back at the airport tell me he found that at max altitude, instead of straight flight, a little bank would allow some more climb from the plane. I've got no idea if that would work, though. There is probably someone on here that could explain the science behind one or the other.

Possible. If you've got a lot of right rudder in, even with the ball in the center, the aircraft will be sideslipping to the left somewhat. That's draggy. A slight bank to the right *might* stop the sideslip and reduce your drag enough to get some more climb.

I'LL DO IT !!! More incriminating pics tomorrow.:sarcasm:

Well there Mr. Alphabet,

Outstanding job! Tu cajones son muy grande! Oh, and about that little joke about being able to recognize us in the post office...

I don't care what you say. It was not me in this picture...OK!:bandit:

. . .more of a reason why you've never seen Jack McCoy on Law & Order - Special Victims Unit. :D

So, I understand your explanation. Strictly hypothetically speaking, if a 30 year old accused rapist says his 16 year old victim was in a club with the permission of the club's owner and she was smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer, it's ok NOT accuse them of rape for having sex with this teenager, that's okay as well?

The analogy? None, I was simply ranting, but you were wrong, and got away with it. Admit that first, then offer an explanation. It would give many a perspective you realized you were wrong.

damn are you serious :cwm27:

*slowly backs away*

The analogy? No. Again, I was simply ranting.

but . . .was he wrong, and got away with it? Yes. Did he admit he was wrong? No, he simply offered a poor explanation/excuse of why he did what he did. That's my ONLY point.

Now, are you going to ask me if I've ever done anything wrong and got away with it? Please tell me you won't. That would scare me. ;)

For the record...NEVER...
off the record...you got to buy me a beer and I'll talk :D

To late, I'll fess up. My conscious is killing me.

It's probably true of me as well. . .but I'll admit I was wrong and let it go as that. Won't try to rationalize it, explain why I it, or justify it. I was wrong. No one saw it, no radar or flight record to prove I did it . . not even "bragging" about the fact I did it.

Wow, I busted the 1 5 2 cloud cover VFR rules! I should take a picture of that puff of cloud that I missed by 20 feet and post it. :D Phew! Got that off my chest.

Now. . . . :sarcasm: OFF!
