Sanford Health Sioux Falls, South Dakota:<BR /><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong><br /><br />Licensed fixed wing pilot who is assigned and oriented to Sanford Air Transport. The pilot is responsible for flying fixed wing flight missions requested by Sanford. Fixed wing pilots must comply with applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Must be an experienced pilot. The pilot is directly responsible for all operations pertaining to the safe efficient conduct of the flight from initial dispatch until termination of the flight. Must have a good working knowledge of the company Operations Manual, Federal Aviation Regulations, Operations Specifications, Aircraft Flight Manual, and any other requirements pertinent to specific flights. Must demonstrate interdisciplinary skills when working with team members. Must have effective critical thinking skills to problem solve and immediately respond to changing environments. Pilots must maintain a weight of 240 pounds or less when fully dressed in uniform. May be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call. All pilots will share on-call and vacation coverage shifts.#featuredjobs<br /><strong><br />POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES</strong><br /><br />Adjusts to new or changing assignments, processes, and people. Assists in assessing risks, benefits and consideration of alternatives. Choose routes, altitudes, and speeds that will provide the fastest, safest, and smoothest flights. Demonstrates current knowledge of the regulatory environment for industry segment. Demonstrates open, friendly, accepting, and supportive behaviors with team members. Effectively performs the technical job aspects, continuously building knowledge and keeping up-to-date on technical and procedural job components. Explains how own motivation relates to the workplace. Identifies the key resources at hand to fulfill own responsibilities. Obtain and review data such as load weights, fuel supplies, weather conditions, and flight schedules to determine flight plans and identify needed changes. Plan flights according to government and company regulations, using aeronautical charts and navigation instruments. Provides examples of how collaboration has helped achieve organizational goals. Takes personal ownership of and strives to meet assigned accountability expectations.
