First SuthernJet 73G

. . .yon know the 757 is my favorite. I just think that the 900ER's would be good on transcons and latin America.

And a good supplement plane to the 757. Maybe even freeing up more 75's to do trans-atlantic service. But, if you ask me, I'd not want to be on a 75 trans-atlantic either. Much the same as you'd not want to be on a 737 for 6 hrs.

Once again, more 75's, not 73's. The 75 pays more and I can't fit my roller bag in the cockpit of a 73. :p

Keep in mind that the 757 is no longer in production.

Doug,
The NGs do look like the old ones, but there is more to them than a new panel and new engines. The 700 is basically a 300 fuselage and the 800 is essentially a -400 fuselage.

The BBJ is a -700 fuselage with a -800 wing/landing gear.

Personally, I would have liked to see the 737 series canceled and the 757 made into 757NGs. It's funny that Boeing said they were discontinuing the 757 because it was "old technology." Uh.....the last time I checked, the 737 was a much older plan than the 757. If commonality was what they were after, they could have shortened the 757 to compete with the A319 and modeled the 75-300 to compete with the A321.

Sweeeet, they're going into TGU now? We needed another airline to go in. Those CAL and AA flights are ALWAYS overbooked/full during the holiday seasons. I can see it being a profitable route for Delta. My parents go to TGU every year and always have trouble getting a ticket unless they book late-September / early-October. The times I've gone, those 757s are full, no empty seats.

Keep in mind that some of those Latin America airports are suitable to for a 737-900. They need a fair amount of runway because the approach and rotation speeds are SO high for tail clearance.

Nevermind cockpit setting to prove 757 superiority. True test would be sitting in the jumpseat, evening ferry flight, no FLEX settings.

The center jumpseat behind the centre pedastal on a 767 is by far the most comfortable. The darn thing turns into a bed almost!
