First Solo!!!

Wow, I've been looking forward to making this post for weeks now! At 2:45 PM today at CHD my instuctor had me taxi off the runway and asked me for my logbook and student pilot certificate and with 16.2 hours of Dual logged officially endorsed me for solo VFR day flight! He then stepped out of the Piper Warrior and instructed me to make one full stop taxi back, a touch and go and an full stop back to the ramp. 1st one was a little flat, 2nd was perfect (and I was told recieved ooo's and ah's from the crowd) the 3rd was a little slow and hard but not terrible. It was one the most incredible feelings I've ever experienced! (and wow does that Warrior climb without 160 lbs of CFI weighing it down!)

It felt good getting an attaboy from the tower controller and seeing the cheering section of random strangers on the side of the runway as I taxied back to the ramp. I really felt like part of community today. Looking forward to the rest of my training!

That's awsome. Have fun with the rest of your training. The solo cross countries are a lot of fun as well.
 
Congratuations! You'll never forget your first solo. It's a more significant accomplishment that you probably realize right now.
