Had my first solo this morning. It was amazing and a bit scary looking over at that empty seat.

Everything went great and did three full stop taxi backs.

I was thrown a bit of a curve on my first solo approach. As I turned base to final I was all lined up and things seemed to go smoothly. However, I then started searching for my PAPI lights.... none where to be found!

I started sweating a little at that point. Did I line up on the wrong runway? Am I at the right airport? (little exaggeration there but yeah).

I have not landed without a PAPI or VASI yet so I was surprised. However, the landing was pretty smooth regardless and then I asked tower about the missing lights.

They thanked me and said they've recycled and the lights should now be on. Good to go and made two more full stop landings.

Great feeling to say the least.

That's so awesome.... Congratulations. I promise you that in your later years you will look back on today and vividly remember how you felt when the airplane first lifted off and when it touched the ground for the first time solely in your hands. It is something that you will never ever ever forget. You will forget many important things in life, but never that.
 
The first solo is by far the most exciting, adrenalin pumping and memorable experience in all of aviation. Congrats
 
Congrats! Definitely something you'll always remember. Mine was extra special for me since my old man was able to be there (he's an ex USAF C-141/C-5 pilot) and the big grin both he and I had on our faces when I shut down on the ramp. Was a great feeling.

You're cross country solos will be fun as well. I think that's when it really hit me that I was actually 'doing this' all by my self.

Congrats! Whether you log 20,000 hours in your life or you never fly again, your first solo is an unforgettable experience.

As everyone has said, you will never forget the feeling or the moment. I can still vividly remember the fox's face that decided to run onto the runway as I was touching down for my first landing. It looked at me as if to say "Oh •, they are letting you fly solo, I'll go the other way!" That was an interesting call to make to the tower. Didn't know what to say, was so pumped to be landing by myself but also didnt want to hit anything my first go either. Added power climbed up and called "wildlife on the runway!"
 
Congrats man! And thanks for being one of the few understandable guys calling for fuel and NOT giving me their life's story just to get an Archer filled to the tabs.
 
Yup, most days between noon and 1pm I am answering the phones at Falcon Exec listening to delightful tales of growing up in England only to have the story concluded by saying, "can I get Archer 4403F filled to the tabs please?"
 
Hahaha I am by far the minority at the school. I love the English accents...German not so much and I'm still working on trying to decipher the Asian accents. That one's gonna take some time.
