Just wanted to let everyone know I've officially gotten my foot into the aviation door! I am flying down to Houston on the 22nd for ExpressJet New Hire Orientation and background check, with training to follow. Even if I am just throwing bags and taking tickets ya gotta start somewhere right? That is all.

Congrats! I loved my time on the ramp! Where will you be working?

Congrats! I think that is just super! Keep up the good attitude that you have and it will carry you far. I worked the ramp when I was a kid and did a lot of stuff at various small FBOs and frankly, it was a wonderful time and I learned a lot, met a lot of people, made some good contacts, and in my case, got to fly with private owners quite a bit, spent time with the mechanics and really had a ball. Everybody starts somewhere, and no one job is better than the next when you first start out, really. It's a good honest job and it's in aviation and it's a start. Best of luck and let us know how you like it and are doing.

Geralrd R. Ford Int'l, my hometown airport! Congrats. I loved my ramp years. Remember to keep your head on a swivel and always be alert for other people doing something stupid. Use your flight benefits as much as possible and see the world.
